Maudine Dozier, 85, a native of Chance and resident of Thomasville, passed away at her family residence in Chance to her heavenly home Sept. 20, 2017.

Maudine was a longtime member of Cane Creek United Methodist Church in Chance where she first professed her faith in Christ. She attended Thomasville Baptist Church for many years. Maudine worked 35 years for Bedsoles Dry Goods of Thomasville. She spent her spare time helping and caring for others. She spent many hours visiting the nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She loved her family and devoted many years into caring for her sister, Clarice until she passed away in 2013.

Survivors include her sister, Ruth Grey (Ray) Wilkinson, Tupelo, Miss.; ten nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manah and Leona Grey Dozier; three brothers, Kenneth Dozier, Kirklin Dozier and Manah Dozier Jr. and one sister, Clarice Spinks.

The service was Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Ty Parten, David Nelson and Dr. James Best officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.

Active pallbearers were Rusty Wilkinson, Dax Dozier, Paul Bradford, Jimmy Cowen, Jared Morris and Dr. Frank Dozier.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the TEL Elect Ladies Sunday School Class at Thomasville Baptist Church and Joy Sunday School Class at Pineview Baptist Church.
