Samuel Moore Jr., 62, a native and resident of Jackson was born August 15, 1955 to the late Samuel Taylor and the late Maggie Lee Hazewood. He departed this life September 16, 2017 at Jackson Medical Center.

He was a 1976 graduate of Clarke County High School. He enjoyed watching westerns, riding motorcycles, playing the lottery, traveling, fishing, and flying kites with his grandsons.

“Wolf”, as he was affectionately called, was employed as a diesel mechanic with Phoenix Services at AM/NS Steel Company in Mt. Vernon.

He will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving and devoted family, wife, Rachel McKenzie Moore, Jackson; two sons, Victor Arnell Coates of Louisville, Kentucky, Roderick Tarvares Moore, Jackson; two daughters, Ronda Yakel Adams, Samantha Lenell Moore, both of Jackson; five sisters, Mae (Herman) Rogers, Faye (Anthony) Moore, Micki (David) Holloway, and Debra (Robert) Norwood, all of Mobile, Shirley ( Joseph) Shoemate, Irvington; 16 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 21 at 11 a.m. until the 12 noon service at Mt. Olive #2 Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Stevenson Tullis, pastor and Rev. Tommie Moore, eulogist. Following military rites at graveside and burial in Hayeswood Cemetery on Hayeswood Drive in Jackson, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church.
