Robert Lewis Malone, 86, of the Ebenezer community of Jackson traded time for eternity on Sept. 28, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 9, 1931 to Condy and Thelma Johnson Malone. He was a member of the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army where he fought in the Korean War and received a Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star and Combat Infantryman Badge. He worked as a mechanic at an auto shop.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving, devoted wife, Susie B. McMillian Malone, Jackson; one son, Phillip Norman, Roxie, Miss.; three stepsons, Rev. Grady D. (Clara) McMillian and Rock Canton, both of Thomasville, Barry Cox, Coffeeville; two daughters, Avis Norman, Roxie, Miss., Deirdre Malone, Jackson; daughter-in-law, Rose Malone, Zimco; a host of grandchildren; a devoted, Heather Malone, Zimco; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepson, Leon Malone.

The memorial service was Oct. 4 at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady D. McMillian as the officiating minister.
