Alice Lee McConnell Parten, 74, of Mobile died Oct. 3, 2017 at her residence.

She was born Jan. 18, 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Mobile. She was a former nurse with the Thomasville Nursing Home.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Parten Lowery, Uriah, Marty Parten Lynn, Thomasville; two sons, Billy Parten Jr., Pascagoula, Miss., Doug Parten, Mobile; two sisters, Shelia McConnell Anderson, Perry’s Chapel, Rebecca McConnell Cotton, Walker Springs; one brother, Billy McConnell, Whatley; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. McConnell; her grandmother who raised her, Rebecca Gwynn McConnell, a brother, Robert H. McConnell Jr., a sister, Doretha Cornell, her daughter, Leigh Parten McKinley, and a grandson, Tony Ballinger.

The service was Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Garry Harrod officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Andy Wiggins, Chris Wiggins, Brad McKinley, Matthew McKinley, Robbie Parten and Dusty Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were Hunter Parten, D.J. Parten and E.J. Jackson.
