Janice Marie Robinson Malone, 57, a native of Grove Hill and a resident of Jackson was born July 20, 1960 to the parentage of the late Willie R. Robinson and the late Jo Alice Chapman Robinson. She departed this life October 6, 2017 in Grove Hill.

Mrs. Malone was a dedicated and life-long member of Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church of Grove Hill where she was president of the adult choir, on the Praise Team, a prayer intercessor, and a member of the Women’s Ministry. Her love for singing was evidenced in her loyal participation in the Fellowship Choir, Interfaith Fellowship Choir, and various local music workshop choirs. Although she was an avid University of Alabama Crimson Tide football fan, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a 1978 graduate of Clarke County High School. Mrs. Malone retired after 21 years of employment as Chief Clerk of Mobile Homes for the Clarke County Revenue Commissioner’s Office. She was a member of Bertha Mae Chapter Lodge #314 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was united in marriage to Robert Malone Sr. and to this union four children were born.

She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Robert Earl Malone Sr., Jackson; one son, Robert Earl Malone Jr., Jackson; three daughters, Charmaine LaTika Campbell, Jackson, Sherry Malone, Grove Hill, Cheryl Malone, Thomasville; five sisters, Teresa Coates and Rosa (Reginald) Clarke both of Grove Hill, Cynthia (Eddie) Pritchett, Walker Springs , Donna (Melvin) Calhoun and Felicia Waters, both of Thomasville; five brothers, Kelvin Chapman, Raymond Robinson, Darnell Stephens, all of Grove Hill, Cedric Hill, Houston, Texas and Jerome Christian, Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two aunts, Cobbie Robinson and Verona Hill, both of Grove Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; four special friends, Gainel Alvarez, Sharon Buford, Christine Dickinson and Marcia Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, DeAn- dre Campbell, and a nephew, Fred Robinson.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 12 at 12 noon until the 1 p.m. service at Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church at 2930 Mt. Zion Road in Grove Hill with Revs. William Jackson, pastor and Cory Pruitt, eulogist. Following burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church.
