John David Knight, 91, of Jackson passed away Oct. 18, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary.

He was born Oct. 19, 1925 to Nod and Ruby Knight. He had served in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed as a machinist with Boise Cascade. He also worked in the plumbing industry. His favorite hobbies included fishing, farming and watching Alabama football.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Knight; sisters, Peggy Armstead, Patsy Clanton; four nephews, Rickie Clanton, Seaborn Hicks, Gabe Hicks, Arlis Hicks and three nieces, Twila Beverly, Angie Demouy and Jackie Horne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Knight and first wife, Marie Fendley Knight.

The service was Oct. 21 at 12 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Frank Kirksey, Rev. Danny Chancey and Dr. Andy Goode officiating. Interment was in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers were Seab Hicks, Gabe Hicks, Arlis Hicks, Rickie Clanton, Jim Roberts, Barry Chancey, Jody Dyess and Alex Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday School Class at Stave Creek Baptist Church and George McIntyre III.
