Charles Edward Pressley Sr., 82, made his earthly transition Dec. 1, 2017 at his McIntosh home surrounded by his devoted family.

He was born Nov. 16, 1935 to Harvey and Lillian Thomas Pressley. He was employed with Kellogg, Brown and Root, he retired following 20 years of dedicated service. Mr. Pressley loved fishing, hunting, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. He impacted so many people’s lives and always made them feel welcome when they entered his home.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 52 years, Cleo Barnes Pressley, McIntosh; devoted daughter, Sandra (Izell) Davis, Malcom; two devoted sons, Charles (Sharon Johnton) Pressley Jr., McIntosh and Norman ( Jessica) Pressley, Mobile; four sisters, Frances Rouse, Betty Adams, Fannie Adams and Irene Benjamin, all of McIntosh; three sisters-in-law, Daisy Pressley and Norma Harris, both of McIntosh, and Alice Pearl Bell, Mt. Vernon; four brothers-in-law, Wesley (Chesteen) Barnes, Walker ( Joannee) Barnes, Walter Lee (Anna Pearl) Barnes Sr. and Cleveland ( Jacqueline Wimberly) Barnes, all of McIntosh; two god daughters, Shakeia L. Barnes and Joannee Barnes; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, six brothers and a niece.

The service will be Friday, Dec. 8, with viewing from 9 until the 11 a.m. homegoing service at McIntosh Church of God Pentecostal, 4260 Highway 43 North in McIntosh, with Bishop Bobby R. Powe pastor and officiating minister. Interment will follow in the church cemetery; the family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall of the church.
