Joseph Campbell, 75, better known as “Joe” Campbell, a resident of Jackson, made his earthly transition Dec. 17, 2017 while at Mobile Infirmary Hospital.

He was born May 22, 1942 to Prince Sr. and Betty Anderson Campbell.

Joe was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church in Jackson, where he once served on the Trustee Board. He retired from Madison Electric in Detroit, Mich. Returning to Jackson he began his own business, J.C. Appliance Repair Service. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his only grandchild, Kaylee, whom he loved dearly.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his beloved and devoted daughter and granddaughter, Monique Campbell and Kaylee Jackson, respectively, both of Jackson; one brother, Louis (Lilly) Campbell, Detroit, Mich.; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey “Peaches” Campbell; two brothers, Prince Campbell Jr. and Thomas Lee Campbell; three sisters, Mae Bell Bernard, Dora Mae Henry and Louise C. Humphery.

The service was Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at Jackson Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Lenoise Richey, pastor, as the officiating minister. Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Jackson.
