Hyde

Robert Michael Hyde, 63, of Frankville, passed away Jan. 10, 2018 at his residence.

He was born May 6, 1954 to Billy Franklin Hyde Sr. and Jean Wiseman Hyde. During his long tenure as a law enforcement officer in Clarke County, he served on the Jackson Police Department, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department and the First Judicial Drug Task Force. He also worked part time at Lathan Funeral Home and as an EMT with an ambulance service. His favorite hobbies included hunting and watching Alabama football, but his most treasured moments were those he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Carol Hyde, Frankville; children, Christi (Bryan) Few, Jackson, Kevin Michael Hyde, Mobile; grandchildren, Candice (Max) Harrell, Walt Few, Jessica Hyde, Ayden Hyde and brothers, Billy Franklin (Ann) Hyde, Mobile, John Edward (Gail) Hyde, Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Hyde Parker.

Visitation will be Saturday Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home with Revs. Joe May and Billy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Ready, Richard Harvey, Larry Hyde, James Hyde, Will MeGehee and Steve Vick.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jackson Police Department, the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department and the First Judicial Drug Task Force.
