Clausell Nequn Boykin, a resident of Leroy, better known at “Tooney,” answered the Master’s call on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Born on Dec. 30, 1994 to Simone Johnson and Clausell Boykin Jr., he was 23 years of age.

A graduate of Leroy High School in the Class of 2013, he loved fishing, and playing football and basketball. He was also a member of Full Gospel Apostolic Church of God in St. Stephens.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Willie Joe and John Welsey Johnson, and Nancy Boykin.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his parents, Simone Johnson of Leroy and Clausell (Alfreda) Boykin III of Choctaw Bluff; son, Za’Kyhian Boykin of Jackson; daughter, Erin Boykin of McIntosh; three sisters, Quiana (Courtney) J. Kimbrough of New Orleans, La., Breana S. Boykin of Mobile and Kiara S. Boykin of Choctaw Bluff; raised like sisters, Zakeyah Wilson of Coffeeville and Ebony Pugh of Toddtown; raised like a brother, Joshua Woodyard of Wagarville; grandparents, the Rev. Clausell (Autherine) Boykin of Gosport and Willie Ervin Sr. of Leroy.

A homegoing service will be conducted on Saturday, May 12, 3 p.m., at Mt. Olive No. 2 Baptist Church, 105 Griffin St., Jackson, with the Rev. Stevenson E. Tullis, pastor, and the Rev. Juanita Johnson as the officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Leroy.

Final life celebration has been entrusted to Jackson Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St., Jackson.
