Jack Edward Allday, Jr., 84, of Sweet Water died April 23, 2013 at his son’s home in Marion Junction, AL.

He was born July 30, 1928 in Coffeeville. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a retired engineer assistant with the Alabama Highway Department.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Flowers Allday, Sweet Water; one son, Dewayne Allday, Marion Junction; one daughter, Sheri Allday, Birmingham; one brother, Marvin Allday, Waynesboro, MS; one sister, Lois Martin, Klamath Falls, OR; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

The service was April 27 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Percy Clarke officiating. Burial was in the Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.

Active pallbearers were Andy Etheridge, Christian Allday, Dewayne Allday, Jerry Magyer, and Martie Allday.

Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Flowers, Austin Owens and J.S. Flowers.
