Bassett Creek hosts singing

Bassett Creek Baptist Church will be hosting its first singing of the New Year, Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. Special guests will be the “Tribute Quartet” of Nashville, Tennessee. Formerly known as the “Monument Quartet,” the Tribute Quartet has developed a national reputation for being one of the finest Southern Gospel groups on the road today. Pastor Chris Kynard comments, “We had this group last year and many commented that it was the best singing that we have had at the church. We are excited about their return and want to invite everyone out for a unique opportunity to praise God as we hear one of the truly great groups in Gospel Music.” There will be no admission charged and a love offering will be received. Antioch A.M.E. Musicians

Appreciation Program Antioch A.M.E. Church of Alma will have a Musicians Appreciation Program for Bro. Ricky Hunt Sr. and Bro. Terrance Washington Saturday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. All groups, choirs and soloists are asked to attend and a liberal donation will be taken. Carl “Dr. Feelgood” Moore will be the M.C. Rev. Clayton Davis Jr. is the guest minister and Rev. Robert Taylor is the pastor. The program committee include Sisters, Eula Rivers, Earnestine Dumas, Barsha Hunt and Libby Williams.

Angel’s third anniversary

Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Walker Springs will have the third year anniversary of the Anointed Angels of Jackson Saturday, Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker for Saturday will be Rev. Clayton Davis Jr. of Walker Springs. The anniversary will end Sunday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Leroy High School Auditorium. Admission is free. The guest speaker will be Rev. Bobby Ray Bolton of Beaumont, Miss., pastor of the Sweet Hope Baptist Church of Laurel, Miss. and Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church of Silas.
