Horace Terrell Ball, 90, of Leroy died Sept. 1, 2011 in Jackson.

He was born March 16, 1921 in Tuscaloosa County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leroy. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Corp. He was a retired maintenance technician for Olin Chemical Corporation in McIntosh.

Survivors include one son, David T. (Helene) Ball, Lexington, S.C.; one daughter, Florence (Worth) Schultz, Frankville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The service was Sept. 3 at 10 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. Burial was in the New Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery in Leroy.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Honor Flight Alabama, Alzheimer’s Foundation or The First Baptist Church of Leroy’s Building Fund.

Active pallbearers were Brittian Schultz, Henry Eubanks, Danny Moseley, Ricky Elmore, Caleb Elmore, Clayton Elmore, Conner Elmore, Danny Ball and Robert Lytle.
