Robert Alexander Bell, 66, a native and resident of Jackson, better known to family and friends as “R.B.,” peacefully traded time for eternity on Feb. 7, 2021.

He was born Oct. 9, 1954 to Luvater Calvin Bell and Joe Bell Sr. Robert

To know him was to love him. He had a zest for life that was always openly shown.

Robert graduated from Jackson High School in 1973 and joined the United States Army. He proudly served, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and was an Expert Marksman. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary J. Jackson Bell (Essie B.). He was employed with the Jackson Sawmill until its closure.

Left to cherish his precious memories are his children, Van (James) White, James (Printella) Jackson, Casey (Cheryl) Jackson and Gloria (Adam) Washington; his loving devoted sister and caregiver, Annie Ruth Starks; brothers, James Calvin and Joe Bell Jr.; nieces, Angela Bell, Regina (Chester) Brown, Althea Starks White, Tangela Bell Richardson, Sangela (Corey) King and LaKesha (Corey) Turner; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, eight great-nieces, five great-nephews, four great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews; devoted friends, Sheryl and Les Whitmore, Johnny Rodgers, Sonya McKenzie, Tangi Simon and Louise Rodgers; with a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Lathan Bryan Jackson and granddaughter, Kambri Clarke.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Jackson, Memorial Funeral Home, 203 East Ross St. in Jackson.
