Mark Warren Carleton, 72, of Monroeville passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.
He was born Oct. 20, 1949. Mark was an Interior Designer and in 1978 became a Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (A.S.I.D.) as well as meeting the qualifications and passing the exam to become a member of the National Council for Interior Design (NCIDQ). He was an Alabama Master Gardener and in addition to his design work loved planting a garden of flowers and vegetables in the spring. He loved music and the arts, played piano and organ, was a gifted floral designer as well as an artist and painter.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroeville and maintained his connections with Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.
There is so much that could be said about Mark Carleton . . . but those who knew him do not need to read about him to know that he was a uniquely special and wonderful man with deep faith and too many gifts and graces to name. He loved well and was well loved.
He is survived by his wife – Nancy Carleton of Monroeville; his son, Warren Lewis Carleton; sisters, Lynn (Bill) Hairston of Birmingham, Sharon (Gus) Boone of Asheville, N.C., and LuAnne (Wyatt) Wilson of Trussville; one niece, Mary (Taft) Whitehead; one great-niece, Caroline Whitehead; as well as many friends and his cats who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Merle Lewis Carleton.
