Lady Gators 10-1; ranked seventh in ASWA latest poll

Here’s a recap of recent boys varsity and girls varsity basketball at Clarke Prep School.

December 12: Morgan Academy.

Varsity boys fall 63-47. Landen Fendley scored 16 points and Trace Strickland added 7.

Varsity girls take down the Lady Senators 62-51. Grace Davis led all scorers with 28 points and also grabbed 13 rebounds. Molli Blaylock put in 14 points and 6 rebounds.

December 13: Sparta Academy.

Varsity boys took home the victory 56-45. Landen Fendley led the charge with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Trace Strickland added 15 points and Powell Agee 11 points.

Varsity girls fell to the Lady Warriors 72-49. Grace Davis had 25 points and 11 boards while Molli Blaylock added 11 points and 6 boards.

CPS Christmas Classic. December 27:

Lowndes Academy.

Varsity Boys lost 52-26. Landen Fendley had 11 points and Trace Strickland 7.

Varsity Girls beat Lowndes 46-25. Grace Davis scored 25 points while Lyla Carlisle added 12 points.

December 28: Pickens Academy

Varsity Boys defeated the Pirates 36-32. Landen Fendley poured in 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Trace Strickland added 9 points.

Varsity Girls won 58-24. Grace Davis led all scorers with 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

For the season, the CPS boys are 2-8 overall and 0-1 in area play.

The girls are ranked number seven in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll and are 10-1 overall and 1-0 in area play.
