Lady Bulldogs earn big win

The Clarke County High School Lady Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins in the Tombigbee Classic this past weekend.

In their final game of the tournament, CCHS beat Excel 11-0 as they banged out 13 hits.

Ashley Daffin was 3-3 with two RBI. Reagan Roberts was 2-2 with an RBI. Kalisha Hudson went 2-3 with two RBI. Janeah Finney went 2-3. Makyla Allen had a triple and two RBI. Abby Luker had a double and two RBI. Casen Young and Kiana Barganier each had a hit and an RBI.

Roberts allowed just three hits in getting the win.

Lady Bulldogs fought hard but came up short 3-2 to Class 7A McGill-Toolen earlier in the day on Saturday.

Hudson had three hits and an RBI. Daffin added two hits. Roberts had a hit and an RBI. Allen and Finney each had a hit.

Roberts took the loss. She pitched two innings, allowed two runs, one earned and struck out two. Madison Newton pitched five frames, allowed one earned run and struck out three.

Clarke County opened the tournament with an 11-0 win over Millry last Friday.

Luker had a home run and three RBI. Daffin had two hits with a triple and an RBI. Finney had a double and an RBI. Hudson had two hits and an RBI. Newton and Young each had a hit and an RBI. Roberts had two hits. Allen added an RBI.

Newton struck out three in five innings and gave up two hits to get the win.

The Lady Bulldogs got their win of the season last Tuesday when they beat the Lady Aggies of Jackson 12-8. Barganier went 2-4 with a double and a homer and three RBI. Finney went 3-4 with a triple and three RBI. Daffin was 2-4 with a double and three RBI. Newton and Luker each went 2-4. Hudson and Young each had a

hit and an RBI. Allen had a hit.

Roberts fanned nine, scattered eight hits and gave up four earned runs to get the win.

Clarke County traveled to Mobile Monday and played Cottage Hill. On Tuesday they hosted Mobile Christian, then will visit Mobile Christian on Thursday.
