Arsie Brown Moore, 79, a native and resident of the Good Hope Community of Jackson was born March 27, 1939 to the parentage of the late Strawder Brown Sr. and the late Mrs. Janie Dubose Brown. She departed this life March 26, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church of Walker Springs where she attended faithfully until her health prevented her from doing so. A loving and devoted homemaker, Mrs. Moore enjoyed cleaning, sharing loving times with her children and grandchildren and cooking. She was always eager to fulfill requests for their special dishes, such as endless servings of turnip greens, chicken and dumplings, banana pudding, blackberry cobbler, caramel cake, and especially her dressing. Affectionately known as “R.C.”, Mrs. Moore made sure everyone had a good time and plenty to eat.

Loving memories will live on in the hearts of her devoted family, five sons; Clifton (Ulander) Moore Jr., Anthony (Tina) Moore of Bad Nauheim, Germany, Eric (Lenora) Moore of Gosport, Darryl (Vicki) Moore and Eddie (Cynthia) Pritchett, all of Jackson; five daughters, Wandra (Walter) Creighton; devoted daughter, Collies (Lawrence Jr.) Chapman, Gladys (Waymon) Pritchett, Sharryl (John) Williams, and Sandra Moore, all of Jackson; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Lucille Ware of Jackson; devoted niece, Danielle Nettles of Mobile and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clifton Moore Sr.; two sisters, Ina Council and Elnora Todd; five brothers, Hosie Johnson, Strawder Brown Jr., Lindsey Brown, Arthur Brown and Augusta Brown; three grandchildren, Lawrence “L.J.” Chapman III, Dennis Moore, and Mykel Pritchett.

The service was March 30 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in the Walker Springs Community of Jackson with Revs. Garry Jackson, pastor and James McGhee, eulogist. Burial was in Hotel Hill Cemetery in Walker Springs.
