Daphine Wilson Norris, 88, of Grove Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 at Willow Brook Westminster Village in Spanish Fort.

She was born in Grove Hill on Jan. 14, 1932. She attended Clarke County High School where she was a cheerleader for the Bulldogs. She and her family co-owned B.W. Wilson Timber Co. and B.W. Wilson & Son. She retired in 1991 and then enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norris; parents, B.W. and Norma Wilson; brother, David Wilson and beloved nephew, Scott Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Smith of Spanish Fort and son-in-law, Rob Smith (who was more like a son); grandchildren, Bryan Smith of Spanish Fort, Clair S. (John) Selaya of Orange Beach and great-grandchildren, Wilson and Caroline Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Burial will be in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill with Dr. Bob Stauffacher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, Georgia 30309.
