Charles Ray Snell, 53, a resident of the Grove Hill community, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at North Mobile Nursing and Rehab Facility in Eight Mile.
He was born on May 25, 1966 to Hezekiah Snell and Mary Lee Mitchell Snell.
A graduate of Clarke County High School in the Class of 1984, he enjoyed fishing and carpentry work.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Rebecca Harris Snell of Grove Hill; daughters, Stephanie (Frederick Farrier) Johnson of Montgomery, Courtney (Catlin) Jackson of Jackson, Tawanda Harris of Grove Hill and Antwinique Harris of Moss Point, Miss.; one adopted son, Zquez Pritchett; five brothers, Johnny E. Snell of Wisconsin, the Rev. Jimmy (Liza) Snell and Harold Snell, both of Whatley, Timothy (Faye) Snell and Asha Snell, both of Montgomery; three sisters, Shelia F. Snell Aull and Lorena Snell, both of Montgomery, and Lilshonda Snell of Monroeville; 10 grandchildren; a host of nieces, one devoted, Lucretia (Sam) Snell Boykin of Jackson; with nephews, other relatives and friends; two devoted cousins, Sharon (Joey) Morrissette of Grovetown, Ga., and Rachel Sharp of Grove Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Annie L. Snell Hayes and Hazel Snell.
The service was Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church in Whatley with Revs. Ted Watkins as pastor and Johnny Lynum as eulogist. Interment was in Herron Hill Cemetery in Whatley.
