Allen Leo Tarleton, 74, of Grove Hill, transitioned from this life on February 5, 2021 at his home.

He was born to Leo Brown Tarleton and Clara Belle Tarleton on September 20, 1946. He was a member of Grove Hill Baptist Church and Macon Lodge #7 in Grove Hill. He served his Lord as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and RA Leader. He attended Clarke County High School and Auburn University. He was forester and held several jobs in that field. He enjoyed the outdoors, taking care of the land and especially spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine B. Tarleton; daughters, Becky (Ron) Muir, Cathy (David) Dunagan, Mary Stephens; grandchildren, Drew Dunagan, Emma Dunagan, Jack Muir, Bailey Muir, Maggie Muir, Ellen Stephens and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Brandon Tarleton, Francine Tarleton and Clarine Tarleton.

Visitation will be Monday, February 8 from 5-7 p.m. and again an hour prior to the service Tuesday, February 9 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Grove Hill Baptist Church with ministers, Kyle Routzhan, Randy Boone, Belinda Berry and Veronica Barnes officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Interment will follow the service at Allen Cemetery located on Allen Road in Grove Hill with Lathan Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Joe Baxter, Mike Berry, Chris Bumpers, Jason Fuller, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ned Sheffield, Craig Stephens and Stover Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be The John Becton Sunday School Class, CCHS Class of 1964 and Members of Macon Lodge #7.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in his memory be made to Grove Hill Baptist Church.
