Trees no match for powerful storms

A big 100-year-old pecan tree fell in the yard of Dwayne and Donna Gates’ home on Sugar Creek Road in the Liberty community during Sunday’s storm. Had the tree been a little closer to the house it could have caused much greater damage. Donna Gates said they lost other trees in the Sunday storm and in other storms, too.
