Calvin Lee Williams, 58, a native and resident of the Wagarville community, answered the Master’s call on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at his residence.

He was born Oct. 9, 1962 to Mary Ruth Reed and Fred Williams Sr. He was a member of the Lewis Grove Baptist Church in Wagarville. Calvin served in the United States Army, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Hand Grenade (Expert) and Grenade Launcher (Expert) and M-16 Rifle (Marksman). He enjoyed fishing and animals.

Left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Grady Williams and Walter Williams, both of Wagarville; one brother-in-law, David Lee Gaston of Jackson; very close and devoted friend and classmate, John Woodyard of Leroy; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Fred Williams Jr. and Paul Williams; and sister, Jeannette Williams Gaston.

A graveside service will be Sunday, Jan. 31, 1 p.m., at Lewis Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Wagarville, with military honors. The Rev. Allen C. Abston, pastor, will be the officiating minister.
