Each year the eight Clarke County Public Schools compete to win the Red Ribbon Week Contest. At each school, students participate in dress-up days, write essays, poems, or have other activities to bring awareness to the dangers of using alcohol and drugs. Larrimore-Sims to exchange vows

Emily Kate Larrimore and Randall Mathers Sims will exchange marriage vows Saturday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. in Wears Valley, Tenn. Miss Larrimore is the daughter of Brad and Kay Larrimore of Dickinson. Mr. Sims is the son of David and Dottie Gaston of Thomasville and the late James A. Sims of Millers Ferry.


Josephine Jackson, 81, of Barlow Bend died Oct. 19, 2010 at her residence. She attended Clarke County schools. She was retired from the Thomasville Health Care Facility. She was a member of the Rocky Mountain Baptist Church and the L.D. Williams Pride Order of Eastern Star No. 730 where she served as chaplain.
