Mid-Clarke Water votes to merge with Grove Hill system

Ground broken in Jackson for new pellet mill
The official groundbreaking for Jackson Pellets, LLC was held Wednesday, Aug. 3. The $17 million mill is being built at the Jackson Port site on the Tombigbee River. Clarke County public schools started the new school year Monday as did Jackson Academy. Thomasville students returned Tuesday and Clarke Prep’s first day will be Friday. These smiling youngsters were photographed at Grove Hill Elementary School Monday. And we too often say kids aren’t happy to go to school!
